I do a lot of high school senior portraits in and around the Charlotte area but every now and then I get a request for a senior portrait for a graduating college senior which I love! It’s another huge milestone in life and getting a chance to help families celebrate is always an honor. I met Cale on the campus at UNCC where he graduated from the college of engineering the week before graduation. We went to a few of his favorite spots in the UNCC Botanical Gardens and then headed over to the college of engineering where he spent countless hours working towards that degree. I know mom and dad are so proud of all of his achievements and now as he launches himself into his career they have these important moments captured forever! Congrats Cale - it was a blast to work with you:)

When you fall in love with a family almost 13 years ago you get to watch all of their little kids become adults and staaaaahhhhhhppppp - I’m not crying, you’re crying!

I’ve photographed them as a family and the oldest two kids as high school seniors and this year was Reagan’s turn. We headed to Camp Northend near uptown Charlotte because this girl is everything artsy, unique and individual style wrapped up in one. The colors there against this GORGEOUS red dress with her blue eyes - UNREAL!

After that we headed out to a field I love to shoot at for the gorgeous evening light in some casual everyday outfits. While everyone loves the dressed up, trendy looks I always adore when seniors want something that really looks like them on a day to day basis. It’s about capturing all the parts of you for your senior photos:)

When I’m not photographing high school seniors in the Charlotte area I’m very often found photographing families which i dearly love to do! This momma knew exactly what she wanted and we worked ahead of our shoot to plan out images to replace some dated wall art from when the girls were little. It’s so fun to design a session like this and the UNCC botanical gardens have been a gorgeous backdrop for several of my clients this year. This spring the greens were amazing and this whole family could not have made my job any easier! The girls were so funny - as you can tell in a few of these:) I love letting their personalities shine through and mom ended up with fantastic new wall art to have for her home!

charlotte-nc-senior-portraits | sunee by Staci Noel

Fall in Charlotte has become an interesting guessing game for a timeline of autumn color. Some years it’s October and the past few years it hasn’t really started until November and hung on all the way to December. So when a senior comes in and says that the most important thing to them in terms of portraits is having amazing fall color I know we are going to have to get creative and flexible in our schedule but man oh man does it pay off! This year’s color was spectacular, especially at UNCC botanical gardens for Sunee’s session. We managed to hit all of the glorious fall trees and then head out to a field nearby my Harrisburg studio to wrap up our day. Of course we also had to capture some images of her true passion as she sketched and worked on some of her unbelievable art - this girl’s got some amazing talent!

Since Sunee was graduating mid year we also had the chance to add on a college gear session and the orange and brown colors of Bowling Green State University were a perfect bookend to celebrate!

You know how sometimes you meet people that just light up every space they are in? Well that’s this kid right here! Every shot, every pose, every location Kolby was all about it and his personality just lit up everywhere! The favorite part of his session had to be the shots with his beloved car - he was so excited to be able to pose with his “baby” Mom and dad were just as much fun to work with and as the three of them followed me all around uptown Charlotte I can honestly say I’m not sure which one of the four of us had more fun!
